Sprayway x Outdoor Licence Distant Hills Hike
Last Saturday we got together for the last Outdoor Licence community hike of 2025 with our good mates at Sprayway. Having had such a top time on Bleaklow recently we decided to start this one in Old Glossop too beginning and ending at the brilliant Distant Hills brewery, a location which also seemed fitting given Sprayway’s longstanding history in the region. Blessed by surprisingly decent weather we took a circuitous route that delivered impressive views of both nearby Bleaklow and Tintwistle reservoir before arriving back at the brewery for beers, chicken wings and a film premiere courtesy of Sprayway. I was a bit gutted to have not made the after party but due to being on some new meds halfway round the route I found that I had lost all my energy and by the time I’d got back down some horrendous leg cramps were starting to kick in which meant I would no longer be able to prop up the bar! I guess these things happen to everyone at some point or other and I was thankful we had both a doctor and a nurse on the hike with us should I have needed them as well as a can of Nurishment which I think was the deciding factor in getting me back down on two feet rather than being rolled down the hill back into Glossop! Massive thanks to Sprayway and Distant Hills for the support as well as to everyone who came along and had fun with us.
