Sock it to the ankle biters with Keela’s Insect Shield

I don’t know about you, but it feels like as soon as the rain stops falling on the regular then it’s the insects turn to take the reins when it comes to outdoor annoyances. Fortunately Keela have addressed this problem by way of a range of apparel and accessories made using their ‘Insect Shield’ technology, which consists of an EPA-registered permethrin repellent that’s built into the fabric. Having big feet (and very tasty ankles) I choose to test out a pair of Keela’s Insect Shield socks in XL, and did a few rounds of the most boggiest, swampiest, buzziest spots on my manor to put these lightweight leg protectors through their paces. Super comfy and breathable the socks were ideal for these super hot days we’ve been enjoying recently and I’m glad to report that I encountered zero bites from mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, chiggers or midges. Even after spending a couple of post hike hours in a beer garden with a forest and a river next to it (the excellent Strines Nightingale if you must know). An added bonus to these socks being that they’re part of Keela’s ‘Where Nature Leads‘ collection which supports Scotland’s National Trust with every purchase made.
