MET & Portal have put their heads together
Specifically engineered for long days across mixed terrain in ever-changing weather conditions, legendary cycling helmet makers MET and outdoor activity activists Portal have joined forces on a very special piece of headwear. Based on the iconic Trenta model the Tradewinds helmet has been designed to be lightweight, ventilated and stable in changing conditions with an optimised airflow system and a low-profile fit that stays in place even when the paces shifts. Whilst the helmet’s artwork comes courtesy of cyclist, runner and artist Hugh Scott Douglas and highlights the juxtaposition between nature and technology by the using layers derived from the organic patterns of the ocean, contrasted with the direction of currents and winds. Exceptionally comfortable and secure thanks to a ratchet system at the rear with 360° head belt and adjustable air lite straps the aerodynamic Tradewinds is limited to just 200 pieces and features an impressive nineteen vents with internal air channelling system for temperature regulation. The quality levels and attention to detail is exactly what you’d expect from these two brilliant brands and we particularly liked the sunglasses ports that allow you to securely stow your shades when not in use.
