Avoid getting chills on the hills with Sprayway’s ace new insulation pieces
Whilst we may love Sprayway due to their legendary shell jackets, the Mancunian brand also a dab hand when it comes to making synthetic insulated mid-layers too. I say this because they’ve just extended this cosy cold beating category to include the toasty and technical Reaction and Maxen insulated jackets. Constructed using Sprayway’s ‘ThermoSphere’ insulation, both of these jackets have been made to deliver a dependable level of warmth in wet conditions thanks to their fast-drying, low maintenance and easy to layer properties. Particularly suited to this time of year’s unpredictable weather conditions and plummeting temperatures, though still super packable the Reaction jacket is the more protective option of the two thanks to it’s durable and wind-resistant TecShell 30D recycled ripstop outer. Whilst the super stowable Maxen offers a slightly lighter alternative thanks to it’s TecShell 20D outer which makes it more suited to fast-paced walking and transitional shoulder-season use. Both ideal for Winter layers they’re also versatile enough to work as standalone jackets too when the weather finally decides buck up it’s ideas up. Reflecting Sprayway’s ongoing commitment to high-performance, functional gear designed specifically for hillwalking (in all conditions) it’s heartening to see this iconic brand quietly but confidently owning this space rather than pandering to trends or marketing hype.
