norda and gnuhr step through the invisible door into ‘gnorda’ together
Though the ‘G’ may be silent the excitement levels have been cranked up to eleven on ‘gnorda’, a considered collaborative project from super cool brands norda and gnuhr. Made up of ten highly desirable pieces of fully functional footwear and clothing, the capsule celebrates both company’s core tenets of multifaceted design, textile innovation and an evolution in thinking around outdoor gear. In terms of additional inspo the vibes come directly from ‘Mount Analogue’, an unfinished, allegorical magnum opus of French surrealist writer and poet René Daumal. In which a group of mountaineers in search of higher consciousness embark on an expedition to locate and climb a peak that’s invisible to the
outside world. Hence all the gnorda pieces come in a pleasing mineral palette of brown and aqua, tuned
for freedom of movement and mind, and showcased in an appropriately otherworldly campaign shot out in the New Mexico desert. With norda co-founder Nick Martire having this to say about this magical meeting of technical gear-making minds: “Since day one, my co-founder Willa and I have been obsessed with unlocking the potential of the world’s most advanced materials. We believe that Nur and the gnuhr team are at the razor’s edge of outdoor design. Together, we were able to create gnorda, a line that we feel is without parallel.” Here at Outdoor Licence we have a lot of time for combining surrealist literature with trail running gear and sincerely hope that we’ll see a ‘gnarnia’ collab that includes Turkish Delight flavoured running gels in the not too distant future.

The gnorda collection will be released via nordarun.com and gnuhr.com at 12 PM ET/9 AM
PT on January 29.
