Fjällräven launch limited edition Expedition Down Jacket

It looks like 2024 is turning out to be quite the year for iconic anorak anniversaries, hot on the heels of TNF’s 30th year Himalayan celebrations comes the 50th birthday of Fjällräven’s equally epochal Expedition Down Jacket. Originally created by Fjall founder Ake Nordin with the vision of making a jacket it was impossible to feel cold in the Expedition Down jacket achieved it’s aim with flying colours and has been a cornerstone of the brand ever since. Honouring it’s fiftieth anniversary this super limited version features a hardwearing recycled polyamide outer shell combined with a high-quality ethically produced down in two offset layers and in a unique (and very Swedish) colour way. A real testament to timeless design the jacket’s construction has changed very little over the years with just a few subtle tweaks and nuanced changes taking place to improve it’s already impressive insulating properties. Though it’s roots are undoubtedly firmly embedded in the unforgiving outdoors, for me this is now the ultimate big city jacket from the streets of Malmo to the terraces of Manchester.
