Uppervoid’s Fimbulwinter collection is poetry in motion

Our mates Uppervoid have previously stated that they’re on something of a mission when it comes to studying the human body in motion. Which they’ve then gone and used to apply an evidence-based approach of rethinking just how material, construction and movement relate when making their unique technical garments. This season’s ‘Fimbul’ collection sees their influences derived from the sensitivity of poetry combined with the type of precision gained only after developing a deep understanding of the human body. Arriving in a place where, if you strip away excess, refine complexity, and let every decision serve a purpose: function becomes a quieter, clearer language between body and nature. Showcasing through their harmonious apparel that precision is in fact not the opposite of poetry but rather it gives experience its boundaries and thus allows freedom to emerge. For AW26 they have taken their research into ergonomics, exercise science and anthropometry and used this movement data as the foundation for reconnecting material, construction, fit and the body’s actual needs. All of which can be seen in their Aerodyna Fluid FIT System that adapts garment construction to the movement of muscle and joint in real-world activity. Which works in conjunction with the Hybrid Functional Zoning System, where material, insulation and structure are positioned with intent across the body and protection, warmth, breathability and freedom of movement are allowed to respond poetically together. Making up a significant part of the Fimbulwinter collection is the Goretex offering from Uppervoid, which sees seven GTX products designed across different levels of activity, load and environmental exposure from high-altitude alpine pursuits and long-distance trekking to lightweight everyday outdoor use. Staying with the impressive tech credentials, you’ll also find Polartec Power Shield Pro, Dermizax and Toray in there forming a multi-layered protection system across down jackets, hardshells, 3-in-1 shells, insulated jackets, softshells, fleece mid-layers, hardshell trousers and softshell trousers. We don’t have a specific drop date for this impressive gear yet but we’re told it’s coming soon, so keep your poetry-inspired performance wear loving eyes peeled!
