Sidetracked respond to the ‘Call of the Mountains’
If you’re the type of person who when they’re not up in the mountains like to be sat reading all about intrepid adventures in them, then Sidetracked have released a book that’s right up your alpine pass. Essentially a compendium of contemporary encounters with some of the worlds most imposing peaks the book is divided up into different stories about tackling these beautiful behemoths either by hand, skis or bike. Put together by the super talented team at Sidetracked magazine, the tales span the entire globe whilst avoiding the more obvious spots in favour of the less well trodden trails, with my personal favourite being the account of free-riding through the mountains of Lebanon. Less of a technical step-by-step account and more of an inspiring taster off all the majestic mountains there are out there waiting for you to discover them. You get the feeling that this beautiful book has been made to get you up off the sofa and out there exploring the four corners of the globe rather than giving you something to do now that the nights are starting to draw in.
