Let’s give a big hand to Trekmates Thaw DRY Gloves

First off, can I just say how incredible it feels to finally find a pair of gloves that fit me like, well, like a glove? Having big hands, I often find myself in an overly snug situation when it comes to gloves (which is a problem I used to have with my size thirteen feet until I discovered Montbell trekking socks) before literally getting my hands on/in a pair of Trekmates new Thaw DRY gloves. As well as the XXL sizing allowing me the perfect amount of room they’re also super comfy and designed for prolonged wear outdoors in wet conditions. Making them particularly ‘handy’ for at least half the year in the reliably precipitous Peak District. For those of you who like the technical deats they’re constructed from a durable super-light polyamide ripstop with FC-free DWR and DRY Protect waterproof, breathable technology (5,000/5,000), combined with 133g/m of cosy PrimaLoft Gold Eco insulation al of which is made using recycled materials. Akin to that fleece or mid-layer that you just throw on without even thinking about these gloves have serious ‘go to’ appeal in that they’re super comfy, really warm and packable enough to stash away into their stuff bag when you don’t need them. Despite their protective credentials and brushed micro-fleece lining they’re also really responsive and allow for nimble actions like doing up zips or using your phone thanks to their touchscreen compatible digits. Priced at £50 I can’t recommend these solid all rounders enough, especially as they come in a range of different sizes suited to various hand proportions not just my Wreck It Ralph-esque coal shovels.
