Leif through the history pages with 66°North

Currently celebrating one hundred years of creating outstanding outdoor gear that;s designed to survive in one of the world’s most unforgiving landscapes (i.e. their native Iceland), 66°North are no strangers when it comes to high performance fabric innovation. Which is why, when Polartec developed NeoShell back in 2011, they asked with 66°North and legendary adventurer Leifur Örn Svavarsson, to put this new technology through its paces in the extremely demanding conditions of their homelands. A project which led to 66°North introducing their incredible Snæfell jacket, which was one of the first jackets ever to feature NeoShell that remains one of the brand’s best-selling shell jackets to this day. Whilst it’s also perhapd worth mentioning that Leifur has guided expeditions to Mt. Everest, as well as all seven continental summits, and led ski expeditions to both the North and South Poles. Not to mention being the first person in the world to complete a double Adventure Grand Slam climbing the Seven Summits and reaching both poles twice. Not bad eh? Having worked closely with 66°North throughout his incredible career, it’s no surprise to see Leif on modelling duties for the new 100th anniversary version of the iconic Snæfell Shell Jacket, as well as the Tindur Short Down Jacket. Both of which are nothing short of outstanding pieces of technical outerwear that perfectly exemplify 66°North’s legacy of making exceptionally good gear. You’d be throughly overjoyed to wear either of these pieces, whether standing on top of a mountain or strutting through through the city streets.
