Nallo, Nallo, it’s good to see Haglöfs back

Designed for the multifaceted and unpredicatble world of ski touring, Haglöfs’ new Nallo range is named after one of Sweden’s most remote peaks that often requires trains, planes and snowmobiles before you can start hiking towards it. Encompassing four pieces of robust, performance-focused gear, the Nallo range is engineered to be highly adaptable to both conditions and levels of exertion, which makes suited to al panoply of other adventurous mountain activities too. Inspired by the extremely remote location of Nallo the Haglöfs design team knew they had to make the collection as protective and durable as possible – while still keeping it light and breathable enough to support ambitious multi-day adventures. With designer Franziska Knitsch recalling the early considerations that shaped the range:

“Whether it’s under the moonlight of midwinter or the endless daylight of spring, the Nordic environment is always demanding. Because you’re often out there on your own, reliability becomes essential. We worked closely with our team of ambassadors and athletes. We created the prototypes much earlier and sent them to our team of testers in Åre. Their feedback became the foundation of our design concept.”

Using these insights Franziska and the team created a set of core features that define every product in the collection: An articulated, forward-leaning fit matches the uphill motion of the ascent; Ski-boot-compatible hems; and backpack-friendly vents ensure that the styles work with essential ski touring equipment. Also aware of the need for emergency equipment in the Swedish backcountry,
Haglöfs also partnered with Twiceme for the Nallo shell set. An ingenious device that when paired with the Twiceme app, alllows the built-in technology to make your medical ID available in seconds, simply by holding a phone to the Twiceme symbol on the Nallo Touring GTX
