‘More is More’ from norda’s new 055 shoe
OK, before we lean into impressive technical details of these new norda 055 shoes, can we just bask in the stunning good looks of them for a short while?
Right, that’s better, now where were we? Engineered to energise performance across all types of terrain and distances, the all new 055 model from norda has a 100% Arnitel TPEE midsole, a knit sock collar, and a structured heel. All of which are designed to deliver optimal energy return, traction and lockdown, whilst maintaining the unrivalled levels of durability and toughness that norda has become known for. Exemplified by uppers constructed from bio-circular Dyneema, a legendary material that pound for pound is 15x stronger than steel that is incredibly light despite it’s strength and offers exceptional breathability and drainage. Whilst a proprietary bio-circular Dyneema blend has also been used on the sawtooth laces, with the 055 being the first norda shoe to use a knit tongue and collar, for an enhanced fit and lockdown that works in tandem with the structured heel, whilst also preventing debris from accumulating inside the shoe. Which if course brings us back to that Arnitel TPEE midsole which boasts a resilience rating greater than 75%, which translates as more than three-quarters of the energy expounded on each footfall being returned back to the wearer. Enabling runners to go further and faster with less fatigue and with no loss of resilience in extreme cold or heat thanks to Arnitel’s unique ability to exhibit stable mechanical properties across all conditions and climates to ensure consistent performance. All of which is futher enhanced by a bespoke norda x Vibram soleplate that uses Megagrip Elite and Litebase technologies for unrivalled grip and all-season performance that also reduces the overall soleplate weight by a whopping 30%. Worn and tested by norda Trail Team athletes across the 2026 racing season, norda co-founder Nick Martire had this to say about the new 055 shoe:
