Purple Mountain Observatory gears up for a trip into space
Titled ‘When The Earth Looked Up’ burgeoning British outdoor brand Purple Mountain Observatory have had their eyes firmly on the heavens when creating their SS26 collection. As this collection of lightweight shells and adaptive layers take their design inspo from satellite imagery and space engineering by translating orbital perspectives into material form. With a colour palette dominated by moon-like mineral greys, spectral whites, eclipse blues and the type of burnt oranges you witness on re-entry into orbit. Continuing to evolve their impressive output so far, the latest chapter also features fabrication and silhouette updates to two of it’s most popular PMO pieces, the Anvil 3-layer Shell and Stinger running system set. Whilst the campaign shoot allows the brand journey to unfolds within an engineered landscape, where natural forms are been reconstructed using industrial materials. Hence the backdrop of metallic structures standing in for trees to create a utopian atmosphere where nature and technology can exist together in harmony.
