Vollebak have launched a SpaceShop

Always ones to push the expeditionary envelope this time those titans of technical clothing Volleback have headed out into space. Working in conjunction with SAGA Space Architects and sonic wizards Bang & Olufsen they have created a unique craft that they describe as being ‘part spaceship, part shop’ with speakers that are capable of delivering 120 decibels of Sonic Boom level sound as well as carrying some very precious cargo on board. Staying with the intergalactic/futuristic theme the cargo in question includes Vollebak’s Martian Aerogel Jackets (constructed using the hypersonic parachutes that landed the last rovers on Mars), Full Metal Jackets (built from 11 kilometres of disease-resistant copper), and
electromagnetic Shielding Suits designer to combat both cosmic and earthly radiation. Launched last week in Copenhagen, this is exactly the level of creativity we expected from Vollebak when they said that they were launching a shop. Co-founder of the visionary brand Nick Tidball had this to say about the project: “When we thought about our first shop we didn’t simply think about one city, or even one planet. We thought about a future in which stores would come to you, bringing the things you needed when you needed them, regardless of whether you were hanging out on the beach in LA, or mining asteroids in space.
