NB & Drake’s take Charlie to the Lakes

Turning the orthopaedic aesthetic up to eleven, New Balance have created a special version of their Allerdale shoe in conjunction with swanky British menswear brand Drake’s. Constructed from brown leather and pig skin these ‘brand new old school’ bangers feature a FuelCell-equipped cup sole and
Ortholite insole, Japanese nylon ripstop tongue, embroidered flying NB logo and unique D-ring lacing with no less than three pairs of paracord style lace options. A shoe that’s equally at home seen roaming the Lakeland Fells as it sauntering along Savile Row the collab also comes with a a limited edition collection that highlights the British outdoors via a handful of Drake’s staples. The capsule includes an unstructured Games blazer and matching fatigue trousers in waxed herringbone cotton, a packable shirt, cagoule and utility vest in hardy ripstop nylon, hiking shorts and button down shirts, graphic t-shirts,
knitted ties and a handy tote bag. So given the strong bucolic British vibes evident here, it’s an inspired choice that they choice burgeoning national treasure Charlie Cooper to road test these heartwarming hill walking shoes up in the Lakes where New Balance have their UK HQ and where the Drake’s Allerdale were made.
