The Keela Albion collection celebrates 45 years of success

Looking exactly like the kind of gear you’d hope to see the Libertines wearing in 2025, the new collection from legendary Scottish outdoor brand Keela also has homespun talent at it’s heart. Manufacturing since day one from it’s HQ in Glenrothes Fife, the brand has always endeavoured to use UK sourced materials as well as local talent when making their superb outdoor attire. To celebrate the fact that they’ve been manufacturing in the UK for over four decades they have just released their Albion collection. A beautifully rugged and rural capsule of jackets and accessories that provide the perfect showcase for the best in UK craftsmanship. Which is further strengthened by Keela supply partners such as HD Wool, British Millerain, Halley Stevensons, and Harris Tweed all bringing something to the party to help make these amazing garments. Which is exquisite timing given that the UK’s fashion and textile industry has finally started pointing in an upward trajectory after years of decline thanks to the increase in fast fashion and imported goods. Nice to hear some good news for a change innit? Especially when it involves jackets.

Sharing our joy around the news, Keela Sales Director Sam Fernando had this to say about the new release: “We’re absolutely delighted to be launching the Albion Collection and be able to showcase what can be created right here in the UK. As a business, local manufacturing has always been a priority, and it is exciting to see that the industry is on the rise – not only for our economy but to help protect our environment by creating clothing more responsibly.” Could this be a sign that the UK is about to start making most of the best outdoor gear on the planet again? Big respect to Keela for leading the way for the past 45 years, we can’t wait to see what the future holds as well as putting on that incredible Falkland 95 jacket when we go to see Oasis next month.
