KEEN & Gramicci put the ‘High’ into Hybrid

Two of our favourite US brands recently combined forces for a hybridised take on a much loved technical sandal. Constructed from hemp, one of the most sustainable fabrics on the planet,the Gramicci x KEEN Newport Retro digs into the past of both these brilliant brands. KEEN having launched a hemp version of the Newport back in 2008 and again in 2018 for the sandal’s 15th anniversary alongside Gramicci doing the same with a hemp version of their legendary G pants released back in the 1990s. Consciously created without forever chemicals or PFAs this new iteration of the water friendly sandals also features the classic roomy toe box, an adjustable bungee fit, renewable Hemp webbing, a slip-resistant grip and a non-marking rubber outsole that won’t scuff boat decks or beer garden decking areas. We’re big advocates of hemp here at Outdoor Licence and think that given it’s miraculous properties that it should replace any other less sustainable fabrics whenever possible, so well done and jazz cigarettes all round to the design team.
