We’ve all watched the GORE-TEX 50th anniversary film right?
As well as being a life-saving piece of tech that has revolutionised the way millions of people spend their time outdoors, Gore-Tex is also a cultural icon that transcends class, cultures and communities and unites all of us who appreciate a beautiful shell jacket or pair of sturdy shoes. Continuing to push the envelope half a century since they started, Gore are currently celebrating their fiftieth anniversary by taking an uncharacteristic look backwards with a short film that takes an enjoyable look at their historical impact. It’s a lovely watch that has something for everyone, with plenty of emphasis on the people behind the brand rather than bombarding the viewer with loads of technical data. You’ll also find good friend of Outdoor Licence and absolute legend Andrew Groves from the Westminster Menswear Archive lending his expert opinion on the way Gore-Tex earned it’s stripes in the fashion world as well as the great outdoors.
