The RSPB ‘Return’ to Manchester

Here’s one for you, did you know that the RSPB was founded in Manchester? Yeah, me neither. It all started in Didsbury in 1889 apparently, by a group of women who were appalled at the use of bird feathers in fashionable hats which in turn was driving certain species towards extinction. Since then the RSPB have gone on to become a national treasure as well as being Britain’s largest conservation charity. Responsible for protecting birds, restoring habitats, and inspiring people to care for nature across the country, this month they’re returning to where it all began, for a very special film preview.  ‘Return’ is a new RSPB film that celebrates one of the greatest comebacks in UK nature, as seen through the eyes of those who made it happen. Though the last White-tailed Eagle in the UK was shot and killed over 100 years ago ‘Return’ beautifully documents how dedicated conservationists brought this majestic creature back to our shores.

Hosted in collaboration with Patagonia Manchester, the preview of Return will be happening at the brilliant Track brewing co. Taproom on Tuesday the 26th of August and you need to RSVP HERE if you’d like to attend. The first couple of drinks are free and food will be available from the delicious Slice Culture. Whilst after the film there will be a Q&A with those involved with the film which includes our mates Percy Dean and Nadeem Perera on the panel. Looks set to be a great night, check out the trailer below and we’ll see you there!

Don’t forget to RSVP to the RSPB HERE.
