La Sportiva have updated their impeccable Ultra Raptor GTX shoe

Italian icons La Sportiva’s most popular trekking shoe to date, the Ultra Raptor has been given an update to ensure that it incorporates more recycled materials and underfoot stability than ever before. Repelling all those annoying sticks and stones that can often hinder your hiking experience, you’ll also find a new sock-like gaiter to keep all that unwanted debris well away from your feet.The new midsole provides the perfect balance of cushioning and support which is further enhanced by a GORE-TEX ePE extended comfort lining for additional waterproofing and breathability. All of which is nicely topped off by an outer sole which uses FriXion white rubber (La Sportiva’s grippiest sole compound) along with the Impact Brake System to add some serious security to your descents. Everything about these super tough technical trekking shoes is impressive and they’re ideal all-rounders for all types of outdoor activities, though I’d say they are particularly ideal for those who like to involve some scrambling on their hikes. Always a bonus, the Ultra Raptor III, just like the Northern Quarter favourites the TX5 EVOs, are incredibly pub-friendly too.
