For festivals or further afield: the phenomenal Fistral from Heimplanet
Much as we enjoy a night spent camping under the stars all year round, it’s safe to say now is peak camping season given the semi-reliable good weather we’ve been enjoying. Which brings into focus one of our favourite ever tent designs, the mighty Fistral from the original inventors of the inflatable tent and all round expert outdoor inventors Heimplanet. A roomy one (or slightly cozier two) man size, this exceptional looking tent can handle seriously high winds and heavy downpours with incredible stability thanks to the premium, high quality materials used in its construction. Though we know plenty of people who take Fistrals out in their backpacks on multi-day wild camps for us weighing in at just under 3kg it’s more of short hike, bike packing or car camping type of kit. Where a relatively brief walk or a decent 4×4 or MTB can get you just as close to an unspoilt nature spot as an eight hour trek can. As well as delivering high levels of performance and looking incredibly cool an additional bonus to the Fistral is that being inflatable it can be pitched up in under a minute. Which is a massive bonus especially when the weather has taken a turn for the worse or you’re absolutely knackered from a day out exploring. Available in the classic Heimplanet colourway as well as a super stealthy camo version, the Fistral really is the Rolls Royce of inflatable tents when it comes to camping as a couple or going it alone. We’ve also heard that they’re pretty amazing at festivals too, especially when everyone else has brought the same old boring looking tent and you can spot your beautiful abode from a mile away.
