Finisterre celebrate World Ocean Day with ‘No Trees No Seas’ campaign
Fittingly Finisterre have chosen World Ocean Day to announce their latest environmental ‘No Trees No Seas’ campaign in conjunction Cornish community interest company Plant One. Designed to raise awareness of the critical connection that exists between forests and ocean ecosystems the campaigns calls for the restoration of Britain’s coastal woodlands, which it sees as being one of the most powerful tools we have to heal our seas. Highlighting how trees and seas rely on each other to survive and are a single living system whereby the forests feed the fish and protect the seas, whilst fish and seabirds return nutrients back to the land. The movement is rooted in hope, and aims to restore 500 hectares of woodlands in Cornwall to prove that this approach can reverse plankton decline, increase fish stocks and restore the health of our oceans across the UK. Through the partnership there are also plans to develop upstream “Fish Forests” designed to directly support downstream marine ecosystems. An initiative that represents a joined-up approach to land and sea restoration, linking reforestation efforts with marine recovery outcomes with Finisterre having pledged a donation each year for the next three years. With Lawrence Stafford, Head of Community at Finisterre adding:
“Finisterre is proud to support the Plant One, No Trees No Seas campaign, a grassroots movement grounded in the landscapes, coastlines and communities of Cornwall. We understand the deep connection between healthy oceans and thriving natural ecosystems on land. We believe environmental responsibility starts close to home and this campaign reflects the kind of local, community-led environmental action that creates meaningful long-term change and future resilience.“
As part of this inspiring partnership, Finisterre have launched a limited capsule collection that includes the No Trees, No Seas T-shirt constructed using the same super-soft, regenerative organic cotton as Finisterre’s bestselling Harlyn Tee and featuring a suitably fish-meets-forest based graphic. Finisterre know how to bring the feelgood factor to their fashionable, functional garms and this terrific tee is no exception, I just wished that they’d called it a ‘sea’ shirt instead.

The ‘No Trees, No Seas’ T-shirts are available exclusively via finisterre.com and in select UK stores now.
