Defy the Weather Gods with the Mont Odyssey jacket
Is it me or is there a distinct lack of options when it comes to longer rain jackets that pack some serious functionality? Well, hold that thought because Australian adventure experts Mont have come to the rescue with their outstanding three-layer Odyssey jacket. Shaped like a classic 3/4 length jacket but packed with lots of modern tech, it’s the perfect combination of OG outdoor style and state of the art performance. The tech being provided by Mont’s highly breathable Hydronaute PRO fabric which is 100% waterproof and windproof (and backed up by dual slider YKK AquaGuard zips aots) which boasts a ridiculously impressive waterhead of 35,000 mm. Yes you read that right THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND milimetres. But don’t think that equals an internals sweat fest because Hydronaute PRO utilises the latest technology in bonding breathable membrane to face fabric. which means that unlike the bonding agents of most microporous fabrics which clog pores, the adhesive on Hydronaute PRO is breathable in itself. Which allows for a greater volume of moisture vapour to be transported through the membrane and away from your body. Genius huh? Incredibly versatile, you can tell by the robust structure of this surprisingly light jacket (745g) that it has been built for thorny outback adventures but also lends itself to most hillwalking and hiking scenarios as well as more snowy stuff like skiing or snowboarding. Whilst it’s roomy fit and three-piece drawcord hood and waist also place this firmly into the ‘Mancunian Musician’ category of technical jackets it’s OK to bowl around the Northern Quarter in too. Did somebody mention festival season?
