Big Agnes celebrates 25 years with all new ultralight VST range

Top tier tent-smiths Big Agnes are celebrating reaching their quarter century milestone this year with the release of an innovative new range of ultralight tents. The VST series (a play on the basic formula for velocity: V=S/T) is a purpose-built family of ultralight shelters that have been specifically designed to meet the needs of fast-moving backpackers and thru-hikers who demand durability, efficiency and comfort whilst out on the trail. Driven directly from feedback Big Agnes have received from the thru-hiking community, the VST series rethinks ultralight shelter design by delivering the lightest, most spacious, most well-ventilated and most durable tents that this back country loving brand has ever made. Comprised of the String Ridge (1.5 & 2.5 person versions), the Pitchpine (1.5 person) and Saris (2 & 3 person) tents the VST range have all been constructed from recycled 20D HyperBead solution-dyed ripstop fabric that boasts an impressive 4000mm waterproof rating without intentionally added PFAS. A highly technial fabric that delivers on Big Agnes’ reputation for dimensional stability, exceptional weather resistance, and long-term durability in line with the brand’s commitment to sustainable, lightweight materials. Whilst the inspired hybrid single/double wall architecture with its integrated venting also offers superior levels of ventilation that also reduces condensation and improves airflow.
