ARTILECT are the architects behind some magnificent mid-layers

Boulder Colorado is the type of place where if an outdoor brand originates there then you just know that it’s going to be good gear. I say this because I recently got my hands on a Quandary Peak Hoodie from Coloradan brand Artilect and was originally oblivious to their geographic heritage but now having fallen in love with this piece of kit and doing my research afterwards, it all makes perfect sense. Constructed from a winning blend of 100% Natural Nuyarn Merino, Organic Cotton and Nylon this is one of those super soft mid-layers that just gently hugs your body whilst providing the perfect balance between warmth and breathability. Additional features such as thumb loops, chafe-avoiding flatlocked seams and a helmet friendly hood add to the overall premium feel of this versatile zip up hoodie that is also naturally odour resistant a dries 5 times quicker than most other materials. It is now one of those items of clothing that I wear around the house or whilst sat in the garden as well as being the first thing to go into my backpack when I’m heading out on any type of hike or wild camp. A solid ten out of ten from men, my approval rating is further backed up by fellow Outdoor Licencer Jordan who has been putting the Artilect Sprint Tee through it’s paces whilst training for the Bob Graham, which he recently completed in well under 24 hours. So there you have it, whether you’re planning a cosy weekend on the sofa watching Glastonbury or multi-day trek in the mountains you need one of these marvellous mid-layers in your life.
