Hello, hello, it’s good to see these Berghaus bangers back
Bang in time for festival season Berghaus have released their ‘Concert collection’, a retrospective range of technical outerwear whose roots are firmly embedded in British musical culture thanks to it’s popularity with Mancunian music legends back in the day. Though it wasn’t until 1997 that Liam Gallagher turned the Berghaus Meru jacket into an instant icon, the band and those that came before them had been bowling about in Berghaus since the early eighties. Thanks to a winning mix of bold colour combinations and the ability to keep your nice and dry whether you were in the terraces at Maine Road or queueing up for a gig at the G-Mex, wearing a Berghaus became shorthand for being a music loving Manc. Using Liam’s legacy as their blueprint, Berghaus have revived some of these classics using updated materials and a refined construction to create a festival friendly selection of pieces such as the aforementioned iconic Meru jacket as well as the equally legendary Trango and the cool and cosy 1997 Fleece. So if you’re lucky enough to have tickets to see Oasis this Summer then these are the jackets you’ll want to have on when you’re looking up at LG singing ‘Hello, hello, it’s good to be back…’
