The Outdoor Recreation Archive HAVE MADE A BOOK!
Having now been writing about Outdoor brands for the best part of 20 years, the Utah based Outdoor Recreation Archive has long been an invaluable source for imagery and information when it comes to the golden era of kit manufacture. Having read the amazing Mountain Style book from cover to cover this week my first thoughts a desire to read a similar volume that covered American, European and Japanese brands from this pivotal period. So imagine my surprise when I discovered this week that the Outdoor Rec Archive have indeed created their own terrific tome that features 71 brands from around the planet. Appropriately beautiful looking, the big book takes a deep archival dive from a graphic design perspective into the illustrated catalogues and marketing materials that helped us fall in love with everyone from Asolo through to Woolrich. This is the ultimate coffee table, provided that table is made by Helinox and your coffee is served from a MSR cafetiere on top of Helvellyn.
