Capturing Stillness In Motion with PMO

Admirably following a totally different path to their contemporaries, Purple Mountain Observatory continue to forge their own unique path through the technical outerwear biosphere this season. The latest instalment in their ongoing series of explorations into highly skilled physical pursuits that exist out on there on the perimeter takes a deep dive into the world of Trampwalling. For the uninitiated PMO describe this sport as a ‘convergence of movement, creativity and fearlessness‘ that’s evolved from a niche circus trick into a full-fledged acrobatic discipline. Rumoured to have started in the ‘Cique de Soleil’ camp and fully embraced by the parkour community Trampwalling is considered much more than a sport and rather it presents a whole new frontier of human movement that’s constantly renewing and redefining itself. Which PMO have taken and used to as the visual narrative for their latest visually arresting shoot that ‘explores the suspension of time in mid-air, the seamless transitions between chaos and control, the silent poetry of motion‘. Who’d have thought that bouncing off the walls would one day become an art-form? Top marks go to the Purple posse for their originality as well as capturing the energy and elegance of this amazing new scene.
