Big Agnes reveal revolutionary new ultralight ‘HyperBead’ fabric

Entering 2025 with a big waterproof bang, outdoor equipment legends Big Agnes are set to launch their revolutionary new ultralight fabric ‘HyperBead’ later this Spring. Applied to some of the brand’s favourite models (such as the Copper Spur, Tiger Wall and Fly Creek) HyperBead’s impressive credentials include being 6% lighter, between 50-100% stronger and 25% more waterproof than previous iterations. Designed to addresses the core challenges faced by outdoor enthusiasts while setting a new standard for tent fabric innovation director of design and development at Big Agnes Michael Thompson had this to say:

“We’ve spent two years sweating over every ounce and every detail of this process and technology. HyperBead is a complete reimagining of ultralight gear – a technology that performs better, weighs less and is easier on the environment. This fabric is the culmination of that vision.”

As well as lightening the load and keeping campers safe and dry HyperBead is also an environmentally responsible material with no intentionally added PFAS with zero DWR or WR treatments.
