Get clogged up with Bedrock Sandals
Just as the oxymoronic ideas of a working holiday, an unbiased opinion’ or a government organisation’ are a little tricky to get your head around, the Bedrock ‘Mountain Clog’ had me a tad puzzled at first. But after doing a deep dive into the world of Bedrock Sandals I realised that their incredibly cool looking footwear has been designed with hardcore thru-hiking and serious bikepacking adventures in mind. Designed as ‘shoes for sandal people’ the aforementioned Mountain Clog with it’s zero-drop profile and grippy Vibram outsole resembles a Birkenstock Boston that’s been modified for mountain use. Offering a wide toe-box for those who like to wear their sandals with (expensive Japanese) socks you could genuinely wear them all year round and over all manner of terrains. If you need further proof of Bedrock’s performance credentials then I strongly recommend you reading this incredible blog post HERE which details Marie ‘Pebbles’ Schrampfer’s epic trek along the entire PCT wearing a single pair of Bedrock sandals. Having recently got my hands on a pair of these closed toe classics I’m now really looking forward to putting them through their paces despite fighting the urge to just keep them purely for comfort/showing off purposes around town and down the pub.
