Outdoor Licence x Haglöfs Hike
Well what a thoroughly smashing time the inaugural Outdoor Licence hike turned out to be. Sponsored by our good friends at Haglofs and supplied with the best snacks in the world by the equally amazing folk at Clifbar, we spent a leisurely Sunday morning hiking up to William’s Clough in the Peak District before sitting down for a brew and a lovely chinwag at Kinder Downfall. The weather was suprisingly kind to us with fairly clear skies and a mostly gentle(ish) breeze helping us on our way. The turnout was brilliant and featured a real mix of people that spanned from seasoned triathletes and fell runners to our hero of the day Garry who had never really ventured out on a big hike before.
Suffice to say we all had a cracking time and I had three particularly interesting conversations that will all stay with me for a long time, which is one of the many reasons I love getting outdoors and spending quality time with people in real life. You just don’t have those type of chats whilst watching telly or sat in the pub do you? In a world that currently feels so fractured and often detached from actual reality, a big hike with some like-minded souls feels like the perfect antidote to the daily doom scrolling. We’re now planning our next event (which you’ll be glad to know will be a little easier on the legs Garry) so make sure you stay tuned to the site and our instagram for regular updates and we’ll see you there. In the meantime check out these fantastic photos that our main man Joe Light took on the day:

I’m the Garry spoke about and all I can say is please join us next time if you can, I’d never walked up any real slope but with the kind support and great chat, I eventually made it and before dark also. All welcome with what I found were big smiles and laughs and a hot drink on tap, if I can do it I’m sure anyone can!
