Help put The Ramblers on the right path
Those lovely people at The Ramblers charity are on a mission to discover Britain’s favourite path and they’re ask everyone to help them out. They’ve teamed up with Cotswolds and are asking you to get in touch if you’re the type of person who loves legging it along the Lizard in Cornwall or you feel a particular fondness for hot-footing it around Fort William. Keen to encourage more people to get out and enjoy our beautiful countryside they want to showcase the places and pathways that have a special meaning in our lives from cherished childhood haunts to our daily dog walks. Staffed by thousands of volunteers the Ramblers do some truly incredible work that involves maintaining and restoring many of our favourite paths and walkways as well as providing really useful guide books about them too.
The Ramblers are asking people to submit their favourite paths via this link HERE and the 8 finalists will be chosen by a panel of expert judges that includes award-winning adventurer Alastair Humphreys and Head of Paths at The Ramblers, Jack Cornish which will then be put to a public vote. All entries will be rewarded with a discount code for Cotswold Outdoor and the chosen winner will have their photo displayed on a major billboard and receive £200 worth of vouchers. Whilst each of the finalists will receive a runners-up prize of £50 worth vouchers.
This is what Jack Cornish had to say about the competition: “Here at The Ramblers we are passionate about shining a light on the incredible network of paths, tracks and trails up and down Great Britain. This fun and free to enter competition can be done on a walk from your doorstep, or while on holiday in Scotland, England or Wales, and there are almost 200,000 miles of mapped paths to choose from! It’s a great opportunity to get out and really celebrate the paths we rely on while enjoying the great outdoors this summer.”
