Given that the motivation for getting into trail running is often fuelled by a deep desire to escape the digital world and witness nature in all of its analogue glory, it’s fitting that this new book from Thames & Hudson offers a similar (if less physically demanding) side step away from our screens. Though this digital abdication requires no more than a comfy seat and maybe a nice brew and a biscuit to fully enjoy it. Titled ‘Grand Trails’ this beautiful coffee table book is filled with breathtaking photography and insightful interviews with the great and the good from the world of trail running thats centred around thirty-six races in twenty different countries. Genuinely informative for those interested in all the multi-faceted aspects of this increasingly popular sport, its only whilst leafing though these beautifully produced pages showcases that you come to realise just how diverse this global phenomenon has become. Fans of running up and down mountains and/or jaw-droppingly good photography should pop on their Hokas and hot foot it down to their nearest cool bookshop to pick up a copy of ‘Grand Trails’ without delay.
