Embrace the cold with a true icon of the outdoors

OG Berghaus ambassador (40 years and counting) and genuine icon of the outdoors Sir Chris Bonington is without doubt Britain’s finest mountaineer. A true legend who has inspired millions to get exploring by literally leading the way on all manner of epic expeditions around the globe, he recently celebrated his 90th birthday by out-styling Liam Gallagher with his own Berghaus campaign. The original down jacket influencer Chris modelled the newly released Lumley jacket, a 600 fill Hydrodown number with an expedition-style (removable) hood and retro waist and hem adjustment style fit. A piece that’s fully inspired by the type of big alpinist jackets Chris wore during his 1970s and 80s adventures that will make people of a certain age reading this instantly go all misty-eyed. Many of the which can be seen being worn by Chris bak in the film ‘A Cold Embrace’ that was made by Berghaus as part of their Cold Studies project. An inspired series that celebrates the inherent beauty that lies within the coldest environments and highest mountains on the planet whilst also encouraging people to actively get outside and experience them.
