An achingly hip hip pack from Nike ACG
In the land where Nike originated it’s a fanny pack, if you’re French it’s a banana sack and if you’re from Manchester you’ll likely call it a bum bag so I guess the universal phrase for the new Nike ACG Aysén 3L is a ‘hip pack’. Hip being the operative word because for all of it’s ergonomic functionality this is one incredibly cool piece of carrywear. Constucted using a minimum of 65% recycled fibres and named after a particularly rugged region of Southern Chile the Aysén features an extendable roll top that’s reinforced with super tough/flexible Dyneema fabric. Which means optimum space efficiency on your hike by allowing you to easily adjust the pack whether to accommodate additional pieces of kit along the way or make it smaller as you consume your supplies. Additional details include an easy access magnet fastening, padded foam back cushioning, outer zip pocket and aluminium G-hooks with corded pulls to ensure a snuck closure. It’s often easy to dismiss ACG gear as looking far too cool to actually be any good in the outdoors but having been a fan for at least the past 25 years I’m happy to say that it has always delivered on performance in all kinds of conditions too.
