Whilst it still feels like we’re waiting for this Spring/Summer to arrive, there’s no harm in looking at what’s going to be happening next year, especially when it comes to amazing technical trainers. Not content with teasing us over their Autumnal link up with ROA those utilitarian Utahns at Altra have decided to wave another collaborative carrot under our nose that won’t be dropping til next March. This time around they’ve worked in conjunction with Japanese genius Keita Ikeuchi, designer and founder of the truly brilliant brand ‘and wander’. Having this to say about the project: “Partnering with Altra was a natural choice for us. As designers who are deeply passionate about blending fashion with the beauty of nature, we saw a shared commitment to innovation and performance with Altra.This collaboration with allows us to bring our vision of fashion in the mountains to life. Together, we aim to create a sophisticated trail running shoe that not only can perform, but also look elevated on the streets.”
The brands decided to create a stunning version of Altra’s sleek and lightweight Timp silhouette by combining it with the iconic BOA lacing system to provide an optimal fit and a truly unique look. and wander then chose a fittingly futuristic charcoal colour palette to blend the lightweight mesh upper and Vibram® Megagrip outsole together alongside the reflective details on the gaiter trap and bold branding. If ever there was a trail running shoe that looks just at home pounding the streets of Harijuku as it does running around the canyons then it’s this monochromatic masterpiece.
